The Biker

I spotted this squirrel just off Bloor St W as she enjoyed her lunch while perched on the seat of one of the many abandoned bikes that you can find around the city. For some unknown reason people lock bikes to racks and then never return, leaving them to rust and also to take up the spaces for locking your bike. It is a mystery!

    What a cute photo and great capture. I can't imagine why anyone would lock up a bicycle and just leave it. What a waste.

    He'll have trouble reaching the pedals!
    Same thing happens with bikes over here. From time to time the police round them all up and auction them. There was also a plan to let the unemployed fix the bikes at one time, not sure if that still happens.

    Funniest thing I've seen all day. I've never heard of a problem with locked, abandoned bikes anywhere. BTW, work on the return of the portal is proceeding apace.
