The Annex neighbourhood has a lot of large homes and a lot of really large semi-detached ones. This is a good example of the large ones. The right house is the part under the peak on the right while the left side seems to have had an addition put on towards the back making it even larger. These homes were single family homes when built and many became divided into flats through the years but the trend now is to turn them back into single family homes - really large ones.
...grand.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful old building!
ReplyDeleteHere in the US it would be called a duplex.
Have a blessed day!

They've done the extension well Pat, looks really good, bet it's fantastic inside ✨
ReplyDeleteWow, if this one would be turned back into a single family home, it would be huge! There is something very comforting about brick homes.
ReplyDeleteIt's like a castle!
ReplyDeleteI like the architecture.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThey look beautiful from the outside, I can only imagine the inside is even lovelier! Take care, enjoy your day!
Those are beautiful, I imagine they are super expensive too.
ReplyDeleteMany of these large Victorian houses have been taken over by organizations and turned into stylish office buildings. This is common in Minneapolis, MN. Smaller family size coupled with the elite moving to other neighborhoods has kept many of these fancy old houses from being single family occupied.
ReplyDeleteSo like Philadelphia I grew up in.
ReplyDeleteThe architecture is unique, resembling a castle building.
ReplyDeleteBuildings like this must be preserved. Greetings from Indonesia.
Ah, my Toronto!
ReplyDeleteThat is big indeed!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Iris. Big but a bit strange extension in the back.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteI love this one. Beautiful! And I am not at all surprised that you wear lipstick under your mask.
