Contrasting with yesterday's vintage church, directly across the street from it you will find Roy Thomson Hall. It was designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson and built in 1982. It is now the home of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra as well as the location for many other events and concerts during 'normal' times.
A special building.
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Amazing piece of architecture Pat, I bet the acoustics in there are pretty excellent ✨
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking building. I wonder if all the glass is lit up on performance nights.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking building. Oh yes, I remember when we could go to concerts. Perhaps we can again next year?
ReplyDelete...it makes quite a statement!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive!
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing else like it in Toronto... and maybe Ontario.
ReplyDeleteQuite photogenic.
ReplyDeleteKinda looks like a hat. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat one I've never been in.
ReplyDeleteAt first glance it made me think of one of Queen Elizabeth's hats. We like to visit other city's concert halls when we travel but we've never been in this one. My wife, though, went to the opera many years ago when she was there for a conference.
ReplyDeleteVery cool.
ReplyDeleteOnly possible by computer aided architecture.
ReplyDeleteI adore Canada! My brother emigrated from Hawaii to Edmonton!
ReplyDeleteThis is a good looking building, but I wonder about the heating bills.
