I have heard about the bat houses that people were putting up but had never seen one until I spotted this one installed above a garage along one of the laneways I explore. It looks rather nice.
That is a lovely bat house. They are fine critters to have around in the summer as they eat their own weight in mosquitoes every day. I have plans for building bat houses from the Minnesota DNR. Now I just need a place to put one up. There are bat houses in our city nature park.
I have one myself. They became popular for bats to reduce the spread of West Nile virus. Bats are nature's best predator against mosquitoes that carry the virus.
...I know that bats are beneficial. but they still spook me.

ReplyDeleteI have two, but one has fallen into the frog pond.

ReplyDeleteWow, that is a fancy bat house!💖
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of them around here, but mostly quite plain, this one is quite stylish with the carved bats on it! Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThere are actually quite a few here. They really help keep the bugs in check.
