This feeder is meant to disrupt the squirrels as they attempt to eat all of the peanuts. The Downy Woodpecker can simply poke its beak through the spaces and grab a nut.

I imagine the squirrels are all war-gaming solutions to that obstacle.
ReplyDeleteI love William's comment because I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure they are coming up with a plan.
ReplyDeleteI imagine (like William) the squirrels will figure out a way to get at those peanuts.
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! The squirrels are no doubt trying to figure out how can we get those peanuts!
ReplyDeleteQue bela ideia!
ReplyDelete:)
A very clever and kitschy feeder - I like it
ReplyDeleteNice feeder but I think the squirrels will come up with a new plan to access it.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this! I think the squirrels are smart enough to figure something out too! lol
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLove the woodpecker and that feeder is so cute! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend! PS, I appreciate the visit and comment.
Cute peanut feeder!
ReplyDeletePretty innovative!
ReplyDeleteLas ardillas buscaran la forma para comer también ahi ;)
ReplyDeleteBuen domingo Pat. Cuídate.
Un abrazo
Great feeder with a very nice guest good captured. The squirrels have now to think about an other method to get the peanuts.
ReplyDeleteFun looking feeder! Gorgeous bird.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day!
Clever idea. And indestructibly ("mine" can get like really aggressive and powerful, LOL. One knocked down and put the face off my scarecrow that was in the way for the seeds I had for the little birds - I could see him/her punching it from my place by the window. It was too funny, glad the crow was but €2, so I "enjoyed the show").
ReplyDeleteA good try by the home owner Pat but if the comments above are anything to go by those pesky squirrels will find a way 😉
ReplyDeleteClever!
