I love these signs that Heritage Toronto puts up on places that have received heritage protection. Some like this one on yesterday's house where they are able to trace the home's ownership back to the beginning include the info about the first residents. The ones where they can't trace the ownership have a simpler sign just stating that they have been designated and the year of construction.

ReplyDeleteThat's a great thing. Awesome to know who built the house.
ReplyDeleteA great bit of history!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
I've seen these kind of signs in London and have enjoyed seeing what famous person used to live there. I wonder if Mr. Isaac cut the bricks for his own house.
ReplyDeleteLovely sign and nice to know.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that he was a stone cutter, but the house he built was of brick. Is this a case of the shoe maker's children going shoeless?
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice marker they have to share the info of the residence.
ReplyDelete...thank goodness that building can receive Heritage protection, if not Toronto would be a sea of glass high rises! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteToronto is lucky that these homes are being preserved for future generations.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think these are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThe city is a rich texture and tapestry
