There is a block on Avenue Rd in the Yorkville neighbourhood where every other store is a flower shop. This store specializes in orchids and that whole top shelf along the side of the shop is filled with them of all different colours. When I need fresh flowers that is the area I head to most times.

Orchids are truly beautiful flowers, but the plants are sensitive to their environment. I would worry about carrying an orchid outside during winter months. I can see why you are attracted to this area.

ReplyDeleteMy mother was very fond of Orchids and over the years I became quite proficient at keeping them alive and getting them to flower. The main trick was finding a place in the house where they were happy.

And those orchids keep bloom and flourish as we know now after having some for 4 years.
