This sculpture by Etrog was found out front of one of the hospitals along University Ave. There was a lot of construction around it so the shot has been carefully cropped as it was actually difficult to see the piece. Called Pieton which is French for pedestrian this is from Etrog's walking figure period of the 1970s. I showed you a smaller one which I spotted in a front garden last May (HERE).
I think I've seen it before.
ReplyDeleteI like his work.
ReplyDeleteEtrog's sculptures of abstract human figures are strong statements. Good find, RedPat.
ReplyDeleteI like the "industrial" look to these sculptures. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI immediately had a feeling that I'd seen something like it before - see, I do remember what you include on your blog!
ReplyDeleteIndustrial art at its finest.
ReplyDeleteOh I dig the hinges!
ReplyDeleteA unique and interesting sculpture
ReplyDeleteJust enough realism to make me uneasy with the industrial look of this.
ReplyDeleteThis pedestrian is a bit short on body parts.
ReplyDeleteNice an image that emphasizes the hinges in the human body for a hospital. Clearly some thought has gone into that.
ReplyDeleteIt is a cool sculpture! Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.
