The pond at James Gardens only rarely freezes totally over as there is always water running down a hill into it. The ducks take advantage of the bit of open water and gather around it. They don't seem to mind the ice.

Every winter there seems to more and more ducks staying for winter.

I envy their ability to adjust to the cold. I wish I was better at that.

ReplyDeleteWe both are featuring ducks today. This is a happy flock of Mallards enjoying a bit of open water. There must be food for them nearby.
