I love the hinges on this door found at University College at U of Toronto. This is a side door into the college but still has been wonderfully decorated with columns and carving. You can see all the dirt of the ages on the walls of this old building.
Lovely building indeed and those hinges are wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteThose hinges are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteA pretty good modern imitation of a Norman doorway with the kind of hinges I often find on old churches. You can still buy hinges like that from specialist dealers.
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand old doorway. Many crafts involved here, woodwork, stonework, and metal work. It makes for a stately entrance to this university building.
ReplyDeleteI like that a lot. Also. One expects a hobbit to open the door and greet you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous old door with the hinges.
ReplyDeleteLove the door and hinges! Take care, enjoy your day and have a happy new week!
ReplyDeleteSuch a grandeur in the side entrance!
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of a lot of architecture here.
ReplyDeleteI feel smarter just by looking at this door. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIf you see such a door you know there are miracles behind.
