This Red-tailed Hawk sat up in this tree for at least 20 minutes and refused to turn around for a portrait. I think it was busy watching for squirrels in a nearby field and had no time for me. It was a coolish day so he was looking rather puffed up.

ReplyDeleteAs I have never seen a Red-tailed Hawk from the back it gives me the chance of seeing the detail in the feathers. :=)

Great capture of the hawk
ReplyDelete...you are lucky, when I approach a hawk, it flies off!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the hawk got its meal. Very nicely patterned feathers.
ReplyDeleteIt’s hard to get inside the head of a bird and figure out what it has in mind. I suspect they are not particularly interested in humans.

Even if you didn't get his best side, it is still and fine photo.
ReplyDeleteSome people are like that when they see a camera.
