Before I totally leave Bloor St and the parade route for the St Patrick's Day parade I thought that I would show you a pre-parade pic. That wonderful building behind the waiting spectators is the York Club which is a members only social club that has been here since the early 1900s although the building is from 1892. The sky gives you an idea of the conditions on the day of the parade - we had snow, sun, a bit of rain, and a lot of wind but it was all fun.
Your weather sounds like a normal day here. Does the York Club accept female members? St Patrick's Day sounds like big deal in your city. Here it means Irish backpackers getting very drunk on beer tainted with green food colouring. They are usually happy drunks but the drink overcomes their speech and they become unintelligible as they slip into their natural accents.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteNice size crowd waiting for the parade.
The weather sounds crazy, the sky does looking threatening.
Take care, enjoy your day and have a happy week!
The weather shown here is just another spring day. If one doesn't like the weather, it only taken a minute for it to change. That is an impressive Romanesque building behind that crowd. Good street photo.
ReplyDeleteA terrific shot!
ReplyDeleteI guess you get used to those conditions there.
ReplyDeleteThat sky does look threatening and that building is beautiful. I see at least a few people decked themselves out in green.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful Toronto photo sweetie. Feels like we've really been to the parade with you and it feels great. Aloha to you, Pat
ReplyDeleteThis is an eager crowd anticipating the parade
