In areas of the city where there is not enough foot traffic to justify installing stop lights we have pedestrian crosswalks like this one where the walker pushes a button on the pole and lights start flashing right across the roadway. The cars stop and must wait until the pedestrian has cleared the roadway. This one is on a busy street right by the stairs leading to a popular park.

ReplyDeleteWe have these all over town here too. They started showing up about 3 years ago. It's funny how some drivers still don't understand how they work.
ReplyDelete...we have many similar crossing signs here too!
ReplyDeleteThese make sense, I have seen them in other states.
ReplyDeleteThey are not in my part of Maryland.
Take care, enjoy your day!
It's a different system than we have here.
ReplyDeleteI hope the cars do stop for pedestrians.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. I suppose we have similar but they look totally different.

ReplyDeleteA clear sign.
ReplyDeleteWe have a couple on our main street.

Un abrazo.
There's one of these close to home.
