I recently went to a small farmers market and found it really busy as you can see from the lineup at this booth. There was a lot of nice looking produce but I found the prices were quite high. $1.50 for a cob of corn, as an example, seems to be over the top to me. I did buy some tasty pastries though.
Yes prices are going up everywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe corn is pricey, the local fresh veggies are usually great.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a happy weekend!
That does seem a bit pricey for an ear of corn. Glad you found some tasty pastries.
ReplyDeleteThose are nice events. Many times the taste of the products of small producers is much better than that of large growers.
ReplyDeleteWe spend around €30-35 each week at our little market. The produce is better than the bigger store here in town and we find the cost we pay reasonable.
ReplyDeleteThat sweet corn is expensive, but these farmer's markets are good places to shop for the freshest produce.
ReplyDeleteI always love a good farm market produce. They are always so fresh
ReplyDeleteFarmers Markets aren't cheap here either, but that doesn't stop people buying the produce.
ReplyDeleteAt a stand here, blueberries were $12 per pint.
ReplyDeleteBiked past one today. Always crowded with hundreds of buyers, this looks easier to shop from.
ReplyDeleteI tend to get to our market three or four times a month.
