Packard Clipper

While out running errands this week I took a short-cut through Little Italy and happened upon this huge eye-popper of a car parked on a small side street so of course I had to stop. It is in incredible condition and after researching (googling) I think it is a 1946 Packard Clipper or maybe a '47 but that bird hood ornament must be an add-on. Imagine tooling around town in this car - priceless!

  4. This car is so cool, I love its style. Many times I think design in old times is much more interesting than nowadays. ;-)

  6. It is a beauty. And, it was in regular use, not in an antique car show? That is special.

  10. I'd be afraid to drive it around Toronto. A few drivers there drive like they never had lessons. :))

  11. What a gorgeous Clipper! That's quite the tasteful custom paint job, I love it! And as for the hood ornament, it might be a replacement, but these Packards really were sold with a large "bird" hood ornament as an option back in the day. Quite the elegant package.
