Elmsley Hall

I've gone into my archives for a sunny fall pic since it has been so dull and grey here lately. Elmsley Hall was designed by architects Brennan & Whale and built at St Michael's College at U of Toronto in 1955. The hall serves as a men's residence and this pic shows the attached power plant and 75' tall chimney which didn't have the clock (designed by Steven Fong) installed until 2005. I can't imagine it without the clock today!

  1. I love the style of this building and the stone it's made from. And, that clock is a perfect fit for that tower.

  3. That figure on the wall really gives an idea of the size of the tower, great looking clock.

  6. I would guess the clock was exactly the right finishing touch. The building is very much "1955" but that was a good year for me and I like it very much!

  7. I would never have suspected that this wasn't always a clock tower. I learned something today! :)
