Gym At Hart House

I loved the old-fashioned look of this gym at Hart House even though it has one of those new 'Big Ass" fans. Somehow it fits with the look of the place and that suspended track around the sides just adds to the atmosphere. It was nice to get into these spaces during Doors Open that are not open to the general public - you have to be a member of Hart House to use the gym and the pool I think.

  1. Open days are the best idea Pat, I'm going to keep my eyes a bit more open for ours here in Perth now. I do like the old fashioned feel of this gymnasium, is that a viewers level we see here?

  2. I wish Phoenix did something like this. You've gotten to peek inside some pretty interesting places.

  3. Another fantastically retro looking space, I can almost hear the squeak of soles on the wooden floor!

  5. This really does look old-fashioned, doesn't it? Hmmmm. I remember the days when they didn't look old-fashioned. :))

  7. It somehow seems odd to see a gym without bleachers!

  8. Reminds me of a church gym/hall I once knew in Chicago. So, how do you get to be a member of Hart House?

  9. I was disappointed with the pool. I have been to art deco pools in Europe and was expecting something more like that. So I dropped out before we got to the gym. Wish I hadn't now as it's quite nice!
