Hockey Time

I was wandering around in an industrial area in the east end of the city and spotted this hockey goalie painted on the emergency exit door of a factory. Our Toronto Maple Leafs are much loved in the city even though they haven't won the Stanley Cup since 1967, and it is almost impossible to get tickets to a game here and if you do you will be paying big bucks for them. New Years Day is a big event for Toronto hockey fans since the Maple Leafs will be playing the Detroit Red Wings outside at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor Michigan, a stadium that holds 105,000 fans and is only a few hours drive away. Busloads of people from here are heading down to the game, if they can get tickets!

  1. I like the mural. There you have much hockey, and in Spain, football.

Happy New Year. Feliz Año Nuevo Pat:))

  4. That is really good graffiti, wonder what the owners thought when they saw that on the door.

  7. Is that goalie trying to keep us from entering through the emergency exit? Well done!

  8. I'm taken by the "Butt Stop" on the right! - has a bit of a double-meaning here.

  9. This mural represents an incredible fan base for the Red Wings. Torontoites are no fair weather fans, that's for sure. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

  13. It's a good mural!

I don't understand Leafs Nation, admittedly. I'm waiting for a game when they're in town here, and then take some pics of Leafs fans on the way to the game. I'm inclined to call the post Barbarians At The Gate.
