Old Oak Tree

This old oak tree is located at the top of the stairs leading to Casa Loma just beside where the photographer of my post 2 days ago was set up. In the summer it seems to always be full of birds and even on this day I could hear Cardinals tweeting but was unable to spot them. I really like the convoluted branches of the tree.

  5. Lovely old oak tree. Birds love them for their acorns, an important source of food and the leaves provide shelter. Fine photo.

  8. I learned to appreciate the beauty of the trees in winter when I came to London, and the older ones are always lovely! ;-)

  9. I'm with you; I like very much branches all scrambled up like that, especially with the white snow on the ground and that beautiful blue sky!

  11. My favourite tree (amongst others :-))! That's a fine example, you'd have to show it to us in the spring and/or summer. I love winter trees though. Lovely shot!

  15. Old trees have character. I am trying to persuade myself that this is also true of old men!
