Paying The Toll

I'm not really sure of the significance of all the images and phrases in this mural but apparently the black dog found on the side of the car is a trademark of the artists, Faile. The car is quite suitable here since it is a busy street and I had to wait for small breaks in the traffic to get any pics of the mural.

  1. The artist has kind of a snarly trademark.

  2. AN interesting trademark, and quite a different look from the first part of the mural.

  3. I wonder if this is a road favored by drag racers.

  4. It is a lovely, and eye catching mural, but I would be surprised if it keeps taggers from defacing it with their spray cans. That's a fine looking '56 Chevy drag racer, an iconic car.

  5. if it was on a toll road, i'd think it was a good marketing campaign. :)

  7. I'm not too sure I get love in return every time I stop at a tolbooth but hey... :-)

  8. Another fascinating mural. Not sure of the message meant, but it sounds good, anyway!

  9. This used to be a toll road and the old toll booth is still there. Maybe it is an obscure reference to history?

  12. Nice of you to risk the traffic for us. I quite like the brick house in the upper right -- reminds me of Seattle.

  14. I thought it might be a love hate relationship with Highway 407. By the way... this is one those murals that artist does not paint it him self. You can read about it here... http://news.nationalpost.com/2013/10/15/when-prominent-u-s-artists-get-23000-to-paint-a-mural-in-toronto-we-expect-them-to-actually-do-it-themselves/

  15. You did well to capture it traffic free, love the roaring car... and dog!

  16. I am of two minds about waiting to have the coast clear of cars. Sometimes I take a few of each and make my mind up afterward. This is a street, right? For cars?
