Another Yorkville Beauty

I've always liked this house in the Yorkville neighbourhood - it is actually 2 semi-detached homes but both halves are well co-ordinated with each other. It was built in 1877 in Second Empire style and has a heritage listing so won't ever be changed much on the exterior. I am into the archives since our weather hasn't been conducive to much walking around with a camera so this pic is from the summer past.

  3. I want one just like it! Don't much like living in semi-detached or semi-attached or whatever that has a common wall, but this is one gorgeous place. I know from nothing about "Second Empire" style but it has a European look to me. Keep digging in the archives - you're doing good!

  6. Actually, that roofline looks very similar to a building along the C&O Canal here built, I'm guessing, about that same period or earlier.

  7. These are nice homes but I bet there is a lot to the upkeep. I too think I may have to resort to the archives when I run out of mushroom photos soon.

  8. Your doing great with your archives. Lovely photo of this classic, stylish house. Looks like residents do a good job of keep up the gardens.

  11. Yup, very nice. Wouldn't mind living there (as long as there's a good bakery within walking distance!)

  12. Beautiful home...I especially like the part just above the front entry. I'd be spending plenty of time there if this was my home.
