Just Ducky

It seems like we have had few sunny days this winter but one day a week ago I happened to be passing by this park in the Etobicoke neighbourhood and spotted hundreds of ducks milling about and some just soaking the sun up. There was a lot of quacking going on and one small bit of open water in the creek behind them which some of them were paddling about in.

City Daily Photo bloggers post photographs on a theme on the first day of each month.  On
February 1, they will address this intriguing question:  If you had to leave forever the city
from which you usually post, what would you miss most?

  2. I think I read about a huge duck convention in Toronto recently. They were going to file a complaint with the city about Toronto waters being a little too cold this time of year.

Well, that's what I heard. Sort of. Or maybe I made it up.

And, the truth is that they might get warmer water what with the political quacks running the place. Right?

  3. I like Lowell's theory (above). Or perhaps one of the ducks was wearing a particularly nice (fishy?) eau de cologne.

  9. It's surprising how many ducks can hang around one tiny bit of water in winter!

  12. Great shot of all those ducks. Quite a success when you take a quack at it.
