50s Church

This is Our Lady Help of Christians, Slovenian, a Catholic church located downtown that was built by the Slovenian community in 1954. It has such lovely proportions and I really like that spire that seems so 50s-like in style. Sorry about all the wires but they are everywhere!
Taking part in Inspired Sunday. Click HERE to see more religious buildings from around the world.

  1. I like the use of bricks to create an accent in the facade. Very simple building but nice.

  2. The local catholic church to me is a 1940's conversion, only the front is original and dates back to the 1700's

  6. It is quite attractive this style of architecture. I do like the art above the door and the mosaic arrangement of the window squares.

  7. 'Tis a beautiful building and so typical of many churches of that era - of various demoninations ... especially those central steps to the entry.
