Spring Occupancy Delayed

The lovely bird's nest I showed you a week ago was covered with snow as I walked by during a bit of snow fall. I think spring may be delayed here this year as the Great Lakes have a lot more ice cover than normal and the jet stream doesn't seem to want to give us any warmth with our temperatures being way below normal. The dark spots on the pic are snow flakes!

  1. we're about a month late here in texas this year. the wildflowers and blooming trees began but were frozen and snowed out last week (and again scheduled for tomorrow!)

  4. It's snowing here today as well. But don't give up hope. Spring will come and a bird may occupy that nest.

  15. Oh, that made me smile - well seen. March started with a little snow here too but it's predicted to warm up a lot by the weekend. I've seen a few little birds flirting already.

  16. Yes February was extremely cold but that is normal compared to the mild weather of the last few decades. Just saying. :)

  20. Looks too cold to live in that next for the birds. Our spring is one month too early but not complaining.
