Arriving By Rail

If you arrive by rail in Toronto you arrive at Union Station which is located right downtown and is the main station for crosscountry trains, trains from the USA, commuter trains, the new train from the airport, and even the subway stops here. You can imagine how busy it is during rush hours! The Beaux Arts building was built in 1927 and has a heritage designation and has just undergone an extensive upgrade while still keeping the historical aspects intact. I'll show you inside tomorrow. And of course I was photo-bombed by the CN Tower.

  1. It looks quite plain from the outside but the inside is quite a different story. I look forward to seeing your photos!

  3. It always a good thing when a historical building is modernized with respect... and the CN Tower it's not bad as background!

  4. I was wondering how the new rail link from the airport was going Pat. You're so lucky to have it, we desperately need one but I really don't see it happening for ages, our Premier is too busy building monuments to himself, Elizabeth Quay :) When Andrew (Melbourne) returned from his hols he was very impressed with your rail system.

  5. A very strong looking building. It reminds me of Union Station in Chicago, another very busy place.

  7. I've lost track of how many times I've been through the station. Most of those times, it has been exceedingly busy. Nice to see that the work has finally been finished.

And it's easy for the Tower to photobomb!
