Out Of The City

I haven't been past the city limits for a long time but a couple of weeks ago went to visit a friend just north of the city's border. You can still find a few scattered farms around that haven't been bought up and turned into subdivisions but this barn looks like it has seen better days which makes you wonder how long until houses appear on this plot! And there was still a bit of snow around.

  1. Hello, I am glad there are still some barns and farms left. I think there is way too much development going on, at least here. Have a happy day and week ahead!

  2. I remember EG talking about all the development and how farms were disappearing and how sad that was. This is probably an example of what she was talking about.

  3. I am sad to see the barn is falling down as it looked to be a real gem in its "hay" day!

  4. It's sad to farms gobbled up the the encroaching cities. It's hard for me to realize that there is still snow cover in the northern parts.

  5. Sad to see the barn in such a sad condition. The snow looks like it's on its way out.

  6. Still snow, gosh! Although we had a hailstorm today. Those old barns are attractive, sad to see one decaying.

  7. Unfortunately the developers don't give a damn about sustainable development, or leaving farmland alone.

  8. Sad, I think. We need more farms, not more subdivisions.

  9. Glad you enjoyed the perspective!

  10. There comes a time when farming and farmers are just words in a history book.

  11. This is one area in which "progress" has done a disservice to our culture. I am pleased that there are so many people now who are more interested in locally grown products. The agricultural way-of-life has been totally altered.

  12. I like it, it's like some of the small hobby farms still working around me. Thankfully we don't have any of that white stuff right now!

  13. Yes this old barn definitely looks like it hasn't got long to go Pat, bit of a shame because I bet it was well used in the past.
