Not So Mellow Yellow

Our Toronto police take part in the Santa Claus Parade each year and this old 1955 (I think) police car was part of their presence this time. You sure couldn't miss a car that colour coming towards you unlike the mostly silver grey ones we have today. This was taken a few hours before the parade began and you can see more of the chairs lined up along the curb behind the car.

    I don't think I've ever seen a police car painted such a bright color. They were almost always black and white here. I love that light on top too!

    Nothing like a parade and a parade needs lots of color. Whew! This yellow is, as you say, far from mellow. It's a '55 Chevy. I had one. My third car. It was blue and white, though. Was this the color of police cars in Toronto way back then?

    That is one brightly colored Police car. I believe it is a 1957 Chevy Bel air. I bet the local Police would love to petrol in this flashy classic.

    I don't think I've ever seen a yellow police car. That would be quite a surprise if you were trying to hail a taxi.

    Definitely not a stealth police car! 1955 is old? Well yup I guess so for a car (and for a person who was already in her teens that year, come to think of it )).
