Subway Art

The Pape subway station on the Bloor line was modernized a few years ago and a lot of art was included in the makeover. These abstract photos by Allan Harding MacKay are just a few of the many which he has installed in the station - some realistic and some abstract.

  1. It's a pleasant change from the bathroom looking tiles existing from the beginning.

  2. Interesting art pieces here. They look like they might be some type of progression on the same theme. It's great to have art included in places like this.

  6. The newly refurbished stations are so much lighter and brighter than they used to be. Good to see art included. Ours are full of adverts!

  7. I didn't know Toronto had a subway. When we were in Europe back in 1985 we road some great ones - the Tube in London, the Metro in Paris and the U-Bahn in Munich. And I've ridden the New York subway also. Love 'em all.

  8. A very attractive look for a subway, usually you see graffiti. Art is beauty to the eye. Nice photo, Pat.
