More Changes

It looks as if another condo tower is on its way to the Yorkville neighbourhood. The lovely old buildings in the forefront are due to be torn down soon and construction will soon begin. Yorkville was the centre of the hippie lifestyle in Toronto in the 1960s but it would be hard to tell that now with all of the gentrification that has taken place.

  1. Hello,

There is a big difference between the old and new buildings. The old building has charm, sorry it will be torn down. Have a happy day!

  3. ...I just read that condos now cost more than detached houses in Toronto.

  4. That's a shame.

I have an extremely low opinion of developers.

  5. That old building has some character and it's a pity that they're tearing it down.

  6. I visited Yorkville one night back in the 60's. Sad to see all of the gentrification.

  9. Gentrification = More dollars per square foot for developers. And more people scrambling to find increasingly rare affordable housing.

  10. I hope they keep a bit of it? In Perth they do lovely architecture-mix-buildings.
(Plus.... I´d sneak in there anyways before it´s gone!)
