New Sculpture In Town

The reason I was wandering about downtown was to see this sculpture that has been newly installed in the financial district. Called 'Dreaming', it is by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa whose work I have loved ever since seeing a major show of his at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in England several years ago. This lovely head is 8 metres tall and is made of resin and marble dust. I'll show more the next couple of days.

  1. It's beautiful. It reminds me of one I saw in Chicago some 16 years ago. It has a very serene look to it.

  2. She does look to be sound asleep. Perhaps she is dreaming. Wonder if she snores? It is a beautiful sculpture.

  7. Lovely is a good adjective. It is admirable the art is being added for public enjoyment and contemplation.

  9. This reminded me of a white head sculpture I saw in West Hartford years ago, but alas, not the same sculptor.
