Stubborn Ducks

These are the ducks who were hanging out in the bit of open water in yesterday's pond pic. There were just a few at this time but as I passed by later there were more and more of them flying in and landing on the ice before joining these guys in the water. It was getting a bit crowded.

Taking part in Saturday's Critters. Click HERE to see more creatures from around the world.

  4. Amazing how they survive the cold weather! If they were not finding something to eat, they would fly on to the next pond.
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  6. I am surprised they could find any open water. It's been well below zero for the past week here and liquid water is nonexistent. Hope they remain safe.

  7. I realize they are well insulated but it gives me a chill just looking at that photo. I can't begin to imagine how cold that water is.

  8. I suppose they're warmer on the water than skidding about on the ice, but I don't envy them their lifestyle.
