This building in the Yorkville neighbourhood was built in 1890 as the Olivet Congregational Church but in 1973 it was in danger of being torn down when a smart person bought it and converted it to high end offices and shops. The building has heritage protection so the wonderful Gothic Style stained glass windows are protected. There were so many trees in the way that it was hard to get a good shot but I love the windows so here they are.

How beautiful! It would have been a crime to lose such a great building. I'm so glad that places like this are being saved more often these days. I hate to think about what has been lost in the past.

ReplyDeleteA church just a stone's throw from where we lived for many years in Phoenix has been converted into a taco restaurant and a gift shop. Much better than being torn down. Our neighbors back then were the pastor and his wife.
