A small park in the Annex neighbourhood has had 1/2 of its surface area flooded over to form a skating rink and on a recent afternoon this young girl and her mother had the whole thing to themselves for practice. The bit of snow we had had not been shoveled yet but that didn't stop her from doing quite well on the skates. That is a white dog off to the right and not a polar bear. ;-)
I loved skating as a kid, and remember wobbly ankles before learning how to use the blades. Your photo is full of nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice they have the skating area to themselves. The dog looks like my old Goldie Girl. Take care, enjoy your day! Have a wonderful week ahead!
ReplyDeleteIt's common here for parks to get skate rinks put up. There are some of them within a few blocks of home for me.
ReplyDeleteShe's going to be a good skater. Your polar bear comment made me laugh. That dog does look a bit bearish.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice to see.
ReplyDeleteOh I was hoping it was a small polar bear! What a pleasant post! Thank you Pat. Aloha
ReplyDeleteSkating never appealed to me. A nice moment you captured here, Pat.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a polar bear
ReplyDeleteHaha, I see the 'polar bear'! Funny. When I tried to learn to skate as an adult, it was the little kids twirling round with no fear that put me off!
ReplyDeleteYes, these are the wonderful moments of winter!!!!
ReplyDeleteSe aprende pronto. Nos llegó nieve .
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo.
Aww, no polar bear :-(
ReplyDeleteMy skating days are long gone... Hehe, Polar bear!
ReplyDeleteGreat to have that near home. So you learn quick.
ReplyDeleteAs a grandfather, it always warms my heart to see young ones outside adding more skills to their lives.
