This is the entrance to the city of Toronto archives building on Spadina Rd. It opened in 1992 as a purpose-built building to house the records created by the city as well as scores of old maps and over a million photos. I haven't been in for a long time and must have another visit. Taking part in Signs2. Click HERE to see more signs from around the world.
Perhaps for Doors Open, if the building participates.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the title of your post I assumed you were using your own personal archives of photos, but no. Great to see a purpose built archive to save the photos and information of the past.
ReplyDeleteI bet things are well organized inside that building.
ReplyDeleteNice architecture. Is it open to public?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the piece of history :) I've always dreamed of visiting Toronto. Maybe one day I'll get the chance :)
ReplyDeleteI just followed your blog - if you’d like, feel free to check out mine too :)
It must be interesting working in this building and to be able to see the old photos.
ReplyDeletePretty building! Take care, have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteA nice facade. Snow is adding chill to it
ReplyDeleteIt's a nicely understated building.
ReplyDeleteVery useful for historians.
ReplyDeleteThat entrance and the rest of the building are in my eyes not in balance.
