Starling

 

Large groups of Starlings are gathering and flying in packs. On this day they had landed in a Maple tree that was loaded with keys. If you don't look closely at a Starling you don't realize what interesting plumage they have with all the dots and speckles.

I can't believe we both mentioned starlings in our posts today. I love seeing their beautiful plumage. It appears to glisten.

Wonderful photo of this Starling. Our Blackbirds are assembling to migrate south for the winter. Starlings are wonderful looking birds, as you point out,.

I don't know if our starlings are the same but I've never seen one stay still long enough to see its colours. They only seem to dart about in the sky.
