Laneway Chaos
I thought that I would show you a more typical shot from the laneway that I had wandered down on Sunday. Almost every building is covered in these stylized tags and only once in a while do you happen upon a good mural, although this particular shot is saved by the presence of 2 of UB5000's yellow birds. The Zip Car sign refers to a car-sharing program that lets you take a car to use a car for an hourly fee.
Yes, more typical taggers at work.
ReplyDeleteIt's all very colourful!
ReplyDeleteI love corners like this ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of color to take in!
ReplyDeleteThese tags look so samey and tired and messy and illegible anyway - probably a good thing...
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning !!
ReplyDeleteMay be me showing my age but I think this just looks a real mess. Not your pic I hasten to add which shows the full horror of this tagged corner in all its gory glory.
ReplyDeleteha ha this is kind of chaotic.
ReplyDeleteI love the whole thing. The tags feel to me as though they are pouring out of the chickens boom box. Gives it a sort of mosh pit feeling.
ReplyDeleteTerrific color and energy.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness what a mess; what a maze of a mess! You've got the "mural," the graffiti, the wires, the branches, the poles, the signs, the car, the stairs, the garbage cans...and all the shadows!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great catch!
It is such a shame that Toronto has let itself get to this state.
ReplyDeleteI am just amazed at how much graffiti you have in your city.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing UB5000's birds have sunnies on, that's bright!! I'm intrigued by the Zip cars idea, how does that work Pat?
ReplyDeleteOne man's meat is another man's poison.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow birds are really cool!
ReplyDeleteThe car sharing program is very interesting, but it would never work here...
Jack - this laneway has become a real tourist attraction and I think the powers that be are starting to realize it and have backed off from hassling the taggers.
ReplyDeleteThe colours are insane! Nice grunge shot, Pat:-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a very pleasant chaos to the eye!
ReplyDeleteQuite messy! I'm glad you usually show us better works. :)
