I still have more of my winter shots of the Parkdale bike stands to show and thought that this especially nice one with a butterfly motif is perfect for this season because we are being inundated by butterflies in Toronto with estimates saying there are more than 20 times as many as normal this year probably because of the warm winter. This stand is one of several located on Queen St West outside "The Meeting Place" which is a drop-in and support centre for homeless persons and it became involved in the creation of these bike stands. The artist for this one is Brian Cotterell.
(This is what cars often look like in winter in Toronto because of the salt on the roads)
Lovely! It's your turn to photograph butterflies. :)
ReplyDeleteThis bike stand is different, more color than the others.

ReplyDeleteNeat butterfly.
ReplyDeleteAnd this one includes some colour, as Regina noted, plus it looks like some regular parker left his lock handy.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly bike stand is so pretty Pat, but the poor old cars with the salt marks, that would not look good on my black car at all (mind you it's never really clean, who's got time haha!)
ReplyDeleteOh, I like this one very much!
ReplyDeleteAh, Jeez! Your bike stands are so nice...I was going to post the one I told you about and then I looked at it and thought, "Well, Pat will just laugh her head off!" So, I dunno. Can't compare with this.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll be waiting for all your butterfly pics!
A butterfly in the snow. Wonderful juxtaposition.
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeletePerfect for spring!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Toronto had so many butterflies this year. I wonder what will happen to them if we get the weather we are supposed to be getting.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and functional.
ReplyDeleteDon't quite understand how this is meant to work but I like the idea behind having all these original works of art around town.
