Art At City Hall
This weekend was the 51st annual Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition held in Nathan Phillips Square in front of Toronto City Hall. I took this pic this morning before all the crowds arrived to see the great variety of work of the over 300 artists. City Hall was completed in 1965 and was designed by Finish architect Viljo Revell who had won an international competition with his modernist space-age design. It remains probably the most recognizable landmark in the city!
Great shot!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous pic, Pat! The city hall is grand. The Square is wonderful. At first all those tents looked like mounds of snow! I'll bet that was a fun exhibition!
ReplyDeleteVery nice! The first time I saw Toronto's City Hall I was a mere lad of 16, and the interior was yet to be completed. I've always liked that design.
ReplyDeleteWhoa - How totally fabulous. What oh What are those concrete arches - they are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCity Hall is just gorgeous. I love the design and the big space below seems perfect for an art show. I love browsing at these things.
ReplyDeleteGreat backdrop for an art exhibition, nice perspective for a photo.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous photo that shows the world what a handsome city Toronto is!
ReplyDeleteI hope you found something special to buy.
ReplyDeleteI remember taking part in that show probably 30 years ago. The wind must do some strange twists and turns around that building.
ReplyDeleteI love it too. What creative design to go with an art show.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Deb, fantastic backdrop for the art exhibition! Looks to me like the crowds have already started arriving Pat, hope we're going to see some of the artworks.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture postcard view, Pat!
