Adore
I always like this part of Queen St West with its old buildings housing a variety of small boutiques & shops but times are changing and the rents are going through the roof resulting in the exodus of many of the old-timers. This is one of the older areas of the city as you can tell from the wonderful details on the facades. This 'Adore' sign has been there for a long time - not sure why!
Yes, that is a terrific facade. It's neat how they built all these buildings with a level line above the 2nd storey.
ReplyDeleteI love places like this, they are so full of personality! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful street to meander down and around. Love those old buildings. "Adore," I don't get. Must have some meaning. Maybe someone started out with A Do Re ... and got sidetracked so never put up the Mi. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI really like this area, too. The rooflines of each building are interesting!
ReplyDeleteWell, I adore it! Great look at this part of the city that I love too. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice line-up of old brick buildings. It would fit in down here.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look too dissimilar to Mostyn Street here in Llandudno, which was probably built in the mid 1800's.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful facade Pat, love the arched windows and I'm happy the 'adore' stayed around so long..at least it's a positive right!
ReplyDeleteA lovely section of buildings.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts of town in your fair city. Great sign, I missed it last time I was there, gives me a reason to return.
ReplyDeleteI think it's sad the rents are going up and up. Hmmmm.
