Another Dog Park

Yesterday's kitty looks down the hill into a park which has a huge population of dogs at all times of the day and no matter what the weather is like. It was interesting that none of these dogs were wearing coats which so many seem to these days, but it was a pleasant afternoon - +1˚C and no wind!

  1. I doubt you would get our whippet out in that lot without a coat

  2. Maybe because they are big dogs, I see mostly small and medium sized dogs in coats.

  3. We used to go to dog parks but since our Maggi is aging, some of the dogs were far too rough for her. I actually miss going there, tho.

  4. A good sized dog probably would resent the coats that you see on smaller dogs. That kind of temp, it's not really needed.

Now we see why kitty was angry!

  5. They all look a little nonplussed, probably want to get back inside to the warmth!

  6. It's good the dogs have somewhere to romp and play.

  7. Talking the dog out is a great way to meet your neighbours for a chat in winter.

  8. These dog parks are really catching on. I bet the dogs keep the Canada geese away.

  9. Maybe I should whisper . . . I think coats on dogs are silly. They're dogs!

The park in the downtown where most of the outdoor Naples art shows are held is Cambier Park, though there is another big show near the zoo, at Fleishman Park. Last weekend's show was a very small, specialized show.

  10. Poor critters! Reminds me of my grandmother's place in northern Minnesota. She had no indoor plumbing. The outhouse was across the driveway by the chicken coop. It was very cold at times.

  11. They don't look too happy with all of the snow.

  12. I have seen so many happy dogs who LOVE to run in the snow.
I guess they have already done that, and are looking forward to go back home and in to a nice warm living room.

  14. The temperature probably felt comparatively warm that day if it was at about the freezing mark. One great thing about having a dog is that it gets their owners out in some fresh air for a few minutes every day.
