This is the last of the murals from the Islington neighbourhood that I have to show you but it is actually the first one you encounter when heading along Dundas St to view them all. It is titled "Gateway Welcome Mural" and was painted on the curve of the bridge over the Mimico Creek. The artist is once again John Kuna and it was done in 2011. Those ladies look like a fun trio!

ReplyDeleteTo me, Toronto means happy memories of youthful visits. The very street names conjure happiness.....when I was 18
ReplyDeleteIt definitely evokes the past!

ReplyDeleteThis just proves that you can always find a spot for a mural. Why not?
ReplyDeleteHope you are well, Red Pat!
A fine artistic portrayal of times gone by! I wish we still had those electric trams in our cities. Not the old cars so much, though. The laughing ladies is another delightful touch to this lovely mural!
ReplyDeleteThe three ladies may be Toronto's first buskers Pat :)
