Deco Delight
This is the entrance to the underground parking for low rise apartment buildings on Avenue Road called the Mayfair Mansions. There are 3 buildings built between 1931-37 and designed by architect H.C. Roberts in a wonderful Art Deco style. The entrances to the buildings are quite nice but I love all the details in this garage door!
Seems like a quite unexpected place to find such fine work.
ReplyDeleteI love art deco and this is a wonderful representation.
ReplyDeletereally neat!
ReplyDeleteGosh hard to imagine this fine example of art deco is a garage door Pat..
ReplyDeleteVery unique! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I would love to have a garage door like this (but perhaps a little bit wider! As it is, it looks very much like a Parisian one where no matter how careful you are, your car gets scratched!)
ReplyDeleteVery out of the ordinary for apartment garage doors.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is one elaborate entrance to a garage!
ReplyDeleteThose details are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteIt is quite charming, but it sure seems small to serve as an entrance to the parking for an apartment complex.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, looks like something the Batmobile might emerge from!
ReplyDeleteIt has a lovely decor!
ReplyDeleteGood weekend,Pat;)
Oh my! I have never seen a garage entrance quite like this one!
ReplyDeleteThis looks so out of place for me. Surprised. Like it though.
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to find some art deco details. :)
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE this!
