A Repeat
I first posted a pic of this bronze sculpture, "Reclining Figure", in September 2010 and every time I pass by it I stop to admire it. It was done by Toronto artist John Fillion and installed in 1967 in front of an office building on St Clair St. I love it and still think it is one of the best sculptures in the city!
i see something trying to hatch. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's very subtle isn't it? It makes you look more closely the way a piece of art should.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly requires your attention, one of those the more you look the more you see pieces!
ReplyDeleteHmm . . . :-)
ReplyDeleteIf it was installed 1967 it must of been one of the many projects for Canada's 100th centennial.
ReplyDeleteVery muscular!
ReplyDeleteLots to look at, wonder how it balances for a start!
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting piece, but I just don't get it!
ReplyDeleteI had to study it and figure out what it was and then read your post. It is quite interesting!
ReplyDeleteEvery once in awhile a photographic subject needs to be looked in on again, like an old friend, to see how they're doing.
ReplyDeleteI can see why it drew you in again Pat, very complex piece requiring more than a fleeting glance.
ReplyDeleteVery original!!
