Knock Knock
This is a door knocker found on one of the doors leading into the lodge room I showed you in yesterday's post of the Masonic temple. Apparently most lodge rooms have double doors to stop eavesdropping and to gain entry one must perform a complex series of knocks which are responded to by a similar knocker on the other side of the doors. The "G" is a prominent Masonic symbol that represents the "Great Architect" or "Grand Geometrician".
Such interesting info on these beautiful knockers.
ReplyDeleteVery secretive stuff then
ReplyDeleteDo you think the secret knock is "Shave and a haircut, two bits"? Fine looking graphic design.
ReplyDeleteHow mysterious!
ReplyDeletesecrets, secrets and more secrets!
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Although I generally find it off that people want to be part of a "secret society".
ReplyDeleteI love this detail shot.
ReplyDeleteIt would be just like me to forget how the secret knock went. Especially if they changed it often.
ReplyDelete"Dang, I didn't want to go in anyway."
Isn't it all hush-hush... :-)
ReplyDeleteCuriouser and curiouser!
ReplyDeleteI wonder why so secretive!
ReplyDeleteIt is an unexpected six-pointed star symbol.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a strong knocker.
ReplyDeleteIntriguing stuff!
ReplyDeleteWonder if the symbolism means something different to the 'members' :)
ReplyDeleteI love it. Great detail!!!
