Early Birds For Brunch
One of my favourite restaurants in Toronto is Kalendar on College St and I just realized that I have never shown the inside which is like a little piece of Paris brought to town - I will remedy that on another day. Getting a seat for brunch on a nice summer day can be tricky so we beat the crowd and were the first to arrive on a recent weekend - brunch is extremely popular in Toronto and you often have to line up for hours for a table. You probably won't find a bottle of Heinz ketchup on every table in Paris! Tomorrow, my plate.
Hmm - now you're making me feel hungry.
ReplyDeleteThese tables and chairs really do have a Paris feel but, I agree, the ketchup wouldn't be there in the City of Light.
ReplyDeleteThe chairs are definitely Paris. I'd get up early to eat there; brunch is the best part of the day!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Prairie Home Companion sketch: "Ketchup, for the good times." :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you sorted yourself a nice outdoor table, always good to watch the world go by!
ReplyDeletenice. :)
ReplyDeleteHa! I enjoyed you comment about ketchup. Actually, over the years ketchup has become a staple here in Canada. I used to think it was soooo American. :)
ReplyDeleteI just know the food will be good in Kalendar.. can't wait to see your brunch tomorrow Pat... Brunch is probably by favourite meal out!
ReplyDeleteLunch time!
ReplyDeleteA neat place for an alfresco nosh.
ReplyDeleteIt does have a Parisian look to it but you're right, the ketchup is a dead giveaway that it isn't Paris!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the inside view, food included.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to see your photo today, RedPat. When I come across a setting like this, with no one there, I usually don't take the photo, thinking that viewers will think that I live in a place where no one sits at the outside tables. But, of course, we all know that Toronto is bustling, so for you it is OK.
ReplyDeleteI want to see what was your choice! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the place... but I'm sure I'd like it!
ReplyDeleteI see Busker Fest is on down in Toronto. If you're going, be on the lookout for Kate Mior's act.
Nice place...looking forward to seeing your plate.
ReplyDeleteNice looking patio.
ReplyDeleteI hope you got French toast. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose chairs actually are very Paris! :-)
ReplyDeleteA great place;))
