Early Birds For Brunch

One of my favourite restaurants in Toronto is Kalendar on College St and I just realized that I have never shown the inside which is like a little piece of Paris brought to town - I will remedy that on another day. Getting a seat for brunch on a nice summer day can be tricky so we beat the crowd and were the first to arrive on a recent weekend - brunch is extremely popular in Toronto and you often have to line up for hours for a table. You probably won't find a bottle of Heinz ketchup on every table in Paris! Tomorrow, my plate.

  1. These tables and chairs really do have a Paris feel but, I agree, the ketchup wouldn't be there in the City of Light.

  2. The chairs are definitely Paris. I'd get up early to eat there; brunch is the best part of the day!

  3. Reminds me of the Prairie Home Companion sketch: "Ketchup, for the good times." :-)

  5. Ha! I enjoyed you comment about ketchup. Actually, over the years ketchup has become a staple here in Canada. I used to think it was soooo American. :)

  8. It does have a Parisian look to it but you're right, the ketchup is a dead giveaway that it isn't Paris!

  10. It is interesting to see your photo today, RedPat. When I come across a setting like this, with no one there, I usually don't take the photo, thinking that viewers will think that I live in a place where no one sits at the outside tables. But, of course, we all know that Toronto is bustling, so for you it is OK.

  12. I'm not familiar with the place... but I'm sure I'd like it!

I see Busker Fest is on down in Toronto. If you're going, be on the lookout for Kate Mior's act.
