We are back on St George St where it runs through U of Toronto for a view of another vintage house and its fence. This house was built in 1892 as a private residence but was bought by the university in 1939 and is now part of Woodsworth College. Both the stonework on the house and the fanciful fence are wonderful!

ReplyDeleteThe fence is nice, but what a structure! Fantastic! I love stone, so this fits the bill. And I love the beautiful reflections in the windows!
ReplyDeleteThey are both fabulous Pat, when you look a bit more closely at the fence it looks a little like peacocktails... or is that just to moi :)
ReplyDeleteI like that fence and it goes very well with that gorgeous house.

ReplyDeleteNice . . . VERY!
ReplyDeleteLove the ironwork!
ReplyDeleteHard to believe the house is over 100 years old. The stone work is immaculate.
ReplyDeleteLove the house and wall...they'll be here for another 100 years!
ReplyDeleteThat's an imposing lookin house, the original owner must have been quite wealthy...
ReplyDeleteLovely! Stone and ornate steel gates and fencing are wonderful additions to vintage buildings.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure that I probably walked by most of the big old houses in the annex that you feature in pictures, back when I did grad work at UofT. Beautiful old homes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stonework.
ReplyDeleteBoth the house and the fence are so pretty. I really like those columns on both sides of the entrance!
ReplyDeleteStunning fence design!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a peacock design. Nice looking fence and building!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a fence like that.
ReplyDeleteNice reflections in the windows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic fence! I love the design.
ReplyDeleteGreat architecture but I must admit that I find the fence a bit on the light side by seeing the more heavy architecture behind. Still good craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool looking home and I rather find the fancy fence work charming.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful façade!
ReplyDeleteI need to get into Toronto to check out this area! Wonderful find!
