Blossom Time
I showed you this Catalpa tree back in May (HERE) when it had no leaves but I wanted you to see how it leans over Davenport Rd. I've been watching it a few times a week since to catch it when its flowers opened. About a week ago it finally blossomed and it looks gorgeous! It had been entered in the Great Toronto Tree Hunt to find the finest trees in the city but it didn't win, unfortunately. A tree specialist did come by to check it out and estimated that it is 125 years old and is still very healthy which is good to hear.
It is huge and so beautiful!
ReplyDeletegorgeous old thing!
ReplyDeleteBetter be healthy judging how much it leans out over those cars. :-)

ReplyDeleteOh wow, that tree is so gorgeous. I hope it has a deep network of roots to keep it grounded in that position.

Gorgeous tree!
ReplyDeleteGlorious sight!
ReplyDeleteIt does look extremely healthy Pat, which is a good thing because it seems to be growing at quite an angle there! Do the flowers have a perfume?
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty! I bet it's a tad messy when the pods fall in autumn though. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I hope it never falls but that's a big wish.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is an unusual tree. The owners must hold their breath when the winds blow.
