A Room Of One's Own
Wouldn't you love to have that room in the large turret as your own place to escape from the world and all its problems. I've often shown you turrets from the Annex neighbourhood where the homes are much older and not quite so grand. This house is in the Forest Hill neighbourhhood, just a bit of a walk north of the Annex, where there is more space and thus a bigger turret. I love it!
Must be grand!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beauty Pat and yes I think it would be wonderful to have a turret room, with a window seat so that you could sit and read.. or watch the coming and goings down below :)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely would! In fact I was born in a room very much like that in a hospital in Michigan which was turned into an apartment building years ago. It was also made of red bricks!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering whether the turret room is the size of the turret, or part of something grander. There's a Forest Hill in London - last time I was there, it was nowhere near as salubrious looking as yours...
ReplyDeleteThat I would.
ReplyDeletei don't have a turret room, but rather a larger turret house. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat place to sit and read I imagine!
ReplyDeleteWould make a great reading room.
ReplyDeleteI also love turrets and I think we may have one or two in the "historic" section of town. What a grand house this is. My dream is to be able to wonder through all the nooks and crannies to see what's been hidden in this structure down through the years!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have that room. I picture a window seat around that window where I could snuggle up and read a book.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful architecture!
ReplyDeleteI would love a turret like that!
ReplyDeleteAgree with you Pat that would be a fabulous room just to sit and read.....
ReplyDeleteThat's a fine looking brick house with turret. Yes, we have always thought these houses were beautiful. Like your photo.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to escape the world!
ReplyDeleteThat turret would be great on rainy days for me and my camera. I'm sure I could get a few good photos from there.
ReplyDeleteIt would be wonderful to have a room in a Turret.
ReplyDeleteHoney, I actually HAD a big turret with six curved windows in West Philadelphia (which is a lot like parts of Toronto). That was a magical apartment where my life changed. Next Stop Hawaii!
