Princes' Gates At Night

This is a shot of the Princes' Gates which mark the eastern entrance to the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) grounds downtown by the lakeshore. It was taken at 2:30 am on Halloween night in a gentle rain and there were still lots of people out and about in costumes. For more info about the gates and to see a shot I took in daylight back in 2013 click HERE. The banner towards the top is advertising the Royal Winter Fair which takes place at the CNE and which ends this weekend.

  1. It brings to mind all of the events I have seen here. Too many to list.

  3. It looks very dramatic and very European in this night shot.

  4. You do have fun in Toronto. But what were you doing out and about at 2:30 am on Halloween? Yikes! Love the shot, though, and the Princes' Gates.

I keep forgetting to tell you that when I last came back from the States, I took a couple of (bad) night pics of Toronto from waaaay up high!

  7. It really is beautiful at night. I've seen it more often in daylight.

  8. We don't built arches like this anymore, do we?

  9. This gate reminds me of the one in Ieper Belgium but it's inner walls are inscribed from top to bottom and side to side with the names of the soldiers who died in WWI. This old gate style is beautiful.
