Store It or Eat It?

This black squirrel had found a great piece of food and seemed to be trying to decide whether to eat it now or store it for later. I wonder how many of their little stored treats ever get found again?

  1. Cute pic. I like black squirrels. We don't have any here. Well, our fox squirrels have some black in them. And yes, I think they remember their stashes...unless, of course, they get run over or caught up by a hawk! :)

  15. I'm glad to see a black squirrel. The Red squirrels have out competed them so their numbers are dwindling. Not sure squirrels always make the best decisions, but then I could say that about myself as well.

  16. They find a lot of them, but enough still grow that it's a good strategy for the trees, too.

    Nice pic!

  22. The squirrels sure have been busy in my neighbourhood lately. I think you are correct that they forget where they hide a lot of their treats.
