This black squirrel had found a great piece of food and seemed to be trying to decide whether to eat it now or store it for later. I wonder how many of their little stored treats ever get found again?

Cute pic. I like black squirrels. We don't have any here. Well, our fox squirrels have some black in them. And yes, I think they remember their stashes...unless, of course, they get run over or caught up by a hawk! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen a black squirrel. It looks sweet!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely eat it, I would :) very cute little critter Pat, well captured here.
ReplyDeleteLooks like he's decided to tuck in!
ReplyDeleteDecisions, decisions.....I know how it feels. However, I'm always an eat it now kind of person.
ReplyDeleteA black squirrel? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteAh, dining alfresco again I see. :-)
ReplyDeleteCute squirrel image. I have not seen a squirrel in ages where I live.
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of these storing and eating! Great shot, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThey do stock away a whole lot!
ReplyDeleteHello, cute capture of your Black Squirrel. I have a squirrel burying a peanut in my yard, some critter will find it. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeletethey do hoard a lot of nuts, i always wonder the same thing, how in the world do them ever find them!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a black squirrel before - how exotic!
ReplyDeleteSweet! I didn't even know that black squirrels existed!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous Black Squirrel image
ReplyDeleteIn Poland we have red squirrels
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see a black squirrel. The Red squirrels have out competed them so their numbers are dwindling. Not sure squirrels always make the best decisions, but then I could say that about myself as well.
ReplyDeleteThey find a lot of them, but enough still grow that it's a good strategy for the trees, too.
ReplyDeleteNice pic!

ReplyDeleteGreat shot and such a beautiful day too.
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I watched a squirrel hide something in my flower bed the other week. They're so much fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteI found a chestnut tree sapling growing in one of my planters, I suspect squirrels!
ReplyDeleteha. They are funny creatures. Dear thing!
ReplyDeleteThe squirrels sure have been busy in my neighbourhood lately. I think you are correct that they forget where they hide a lot of their treats.
